Chiammaya.com

chiammaya.comChiammaya sells hand-made, Mexican-style chocolate blended with a centuries-old recipe. This is a flash site and while we wouldn't normally recommend a totally flash site, we felt Chiammaya had to have a "big company" feel. As it turns out, it's a clever, easily-managed and navigated flash site - that incidentally, fails gracefully if the user doesn't have flash or javascript enabled.

We're even managing dynamic content into the flash portions.

Fotobridge

FBGrab copy.jpgThis is an e-commerce site for a new business that converts photos, slides and negatives to digital images--a great idea for baby boomers with shoeboxes of old photos. We handled both design and development. The site uses an out-of-the-box e-commerce package that we customized within an inch of its life. We added scripts for order tracking, used a little javascript here and there, and programmed the site in PHP.

The Satin Bow

SB Grab copy.jpg

Sometimes we are asked to do something really pretty and this was one of those rare occasions. Our client makes custom wedding and event stationery products and sells samples online. We gave her a back-end that allows her to add products, categories. and sub-categories of products without having to call us to do it. We also built a custom cart and integrated it with PayPal Payments Standard. If you or someone you know has a wedding in the future, check out Satin Bow's lovely work.

The Knitting Lab

Sometimes friends turn into clients. That's what happened when the owner of this store changed careers and opened The Knitting Lab.

It's always rewarding when avocations become successful vocations and TKL has become just that in under a year of operation.

We did the design and integrated it into a content management system allowing the site owner to update content immediately.

Electronic Specialty Parts

For this project, we kept design to a minimum, except for a little Flash in the header. The client wanted lots of room to add content and an easy back-end with which to do so. The challenging part of the project was coordinating with a database on another server to retrieve search results and then parse the results the way we wanted them.

Law Coffee

law
We did our first work for Law Coffee in 2003 when we were called in to engineer a new design and integrate an e-commerce package. In 2006 we completely re-designed the site and upgraded much of the function.

We also do quite a bit of marketing work for Law Coffee both in the code optimization and in search engine submissions.

Blaqwell

blaqwell.jpg
This project for a legal consulting firm created an interesting challenge: integrating Flash and a complete content-management system. The client is now able to add, edit, delete, and archive content for every section of the site.

Lew Goldfarb Associates, LLC

Lew GoldfarbFlash was just the ticket to make this new law firm look professional, cutting-edge and hip (but not trendy). PERFECT i-ste designed the site, built it in Flash, wrote it and designed the logo and associated print components.

La Dolce Gourmet Chocolate and Nuts

ldgthumb.jpg La Dolce Gourmet creates hand-made chocolates and a variety of spiced nut treats. We wanted to create a deep, rich feel and reflect the sexiness of chocolate. We chose reds and golds to evoke an emotional response, because after all, isn't that what chocolate is all about?

This is phase one of the project. Full-fledged e-commerce is in the works for a phase two launch in 2005.

SingleCity

SingleCitySingleCity is New York's newest dating site. We built this "all-inclusive" singles center to include advanced search, Flash chat, bulletin board, online speed dating, live events and even a single's weblog.

Our experience in other dating sites helped SingleCity seamlessly integrate this web application into their existing business.

SingleCity grew out of a successful dating and introduction service in New York City. Prior to the website, MDRB Holdings had been quite successful conducting live singles events like speed dating. Their goal in creating a web presence was to retain the intimacy of live dating and bring that excitement to the online experience.

One of the first challenges was creating an online speed dating module. This function creates a schedule, matches users for a specified time and then allows each participant to choose immediately whether they want to continue the relationship for friendship, romance or business networking. Each member can see the results and communicte with other interested members in an online chat, via e-mail or phone.

The site is also integrated into live speed dating events. At the conclusion of each event, users can log in to SingleCity and see the results of the event immediately.

SingleCity also has advanced search capabilities allowing multiple photos, the ability to find users who are currently online, and filters to show the newest members or only members with photos. Premium members can also chat online using our custom-built Flash chat client.

Included in the package is a bulletin board designed to allow networking between members and a weblog to help keep members updated with the latest dating news.

SingleCity runs on a FreeBSD platform with a MySQL database and PHP. We use PHP to allow photo uploads and alter the image as it is transmitted. The site also has an extensive administrative area.

Artisan Interiors

artisanthumb.jpg Artisan Interiors and Decorative Finishes needed a website... fast. They were headed to a trade show and need not only a web site address for their crds, but they needed a functional website that could give interested clients a much more in-depth look at their work.

With their help, we were able to pull off this beautiful site in a matter of days. More importantly, by the time they got back to the office, they already had inquiries from intestered patrons, and closed a large sale using the web site.

About PERFECT i-site

The partners of PERFECT i-site have over 50 years collectively working in marketing, copywriting, and design. Wow—are we that old? For the past 8 years we have both worked primarily in ‘new’ media.

pete.jpgPete Kooiker comes from a retail marketing background, working for large chain stores throughout the Midwest. He moved from there to newspapers where he delivered them---electronically that is---as the head of the Columbus Dispatch’s first online venture. In the process, the Dispatch became one of the very early newspapers to have an online presence both for news and advertising. He has spent the last 5 years working on mid-to-large size web development projects, responsible for several projects that have current revenue of over a million dollars a year.

He exercises the other side of his brain by creating designs for clients that are both gorgeous and extremely usable. He works in Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Quark, Fireworks, and others. And along the way he’s learned programming ranging from basic HTML through Cold Fusion, Flash and other languages along the way. He is also proficient in setting up email campaigns and content management.

cropped3.jpgJan Reisen does it all. She has been writing professionally for over 20 years and has two books and several magazine articles to her credit. For the last ten years she has written content for dozens of websites and ancillary materials, including brochures, radio spots, ad copy, sales material, and e-newsletters. Jan also handles site structure, web analysis, and project management.

Together, the partners handle search engine optimization and submissions as well as reporting and analysis. They will also design and implement online marketing plans.

In their spare time, they let the dog in and out, rid the lawn of dandelions, and paddle up and down the river running outside their front door.

Alex Wang is our engineering expert and takes on all the highly technical details of getting a site up and running. Alex has experience in PHP, .NET and is certified in database management and Flash.

We owe much of our success to Alex and his tireless attention to detail.

Maggie Elrawy is our e-commerce expert and has written custom applications for various clients. From integrating commercial packages to creating complete e-commerce systems, Maggie has the experience to handle any business process that comes our way.

Please contact us to see what we can do for you, or just to find out how those dandelions are doing.

Our Web Design Philosophy

We believe that while pretty faces and pretty words are important , your web site is supposed to work hard for you---attract visitors, give them the information they need, and entice them to know you and your work better. We want the search engines to find you, we want your visitors to navigate your site seamlessly and happily, and we aim to make your web presence an important, if not the most important, segment of your marketing strategies.

We also believe that no matter how big or small, localized, or specialized your business is, you deserve the best possible web presence and we are committed to a high level of professionalism on every project. We work hard against the contempt that comes with familiarity.

We think that whether you’re an entrepreneur or an artisan or something else entirely, we can be responsive to your internet needs and create something that will both reflect and enhance your goals.

We believe that design should never be left in the hands of engineers. We love our engineers and without them there would be no web, but to allow them to design a site is like inviting your plumber to design the house. While we resepct and admire the work a plumber does, we don't expect him to have the artistic sensibilities of an architect. PERFECT i-site begins with designs rooted in solid technical awareness but not encumbered by the engineering.

We've also noted that web design has lately taken on a sort of minimalism where design has bowed to the "content is king" philosophy - abandoning impact in an effort to focus attention on subject. We believe that for most commercial ventures the web is still essentially an advertising medium and it is most important to make a good first impression. Our designs reflect our two-decade-long lives as advertising professionals. Impact, great first impressions, style and essential message - all in about 3 seconds.

We ask - "what's the one thing" and take great pains to communicate that single message both visually and in text and comment.

There are lots of great engineers out there and many of them who will create a site for next to nothing, but there are very few who combine the essential ingredients of both art and science. PERFECT i-site
